Here comes a short story from Team Extreme of Sweden becoming STM winners:

The Swedish Trolling Masters series started up in early may. The first leg was Laxfestivalen in Karlshamn near the Baltic Sea. The fishing was hard and on the third day of fishing we caught two Baltic salmon that finally gave us a fourth place in the tournament. We caught our two salmon by fishing chromed shark and Nothern King spoons behind them.

Next up was Storsjötrollingen that started in beginning of July. Now we were fishing with Anchovy Special Bait heads and bleak. We caught some nice laker and one fine trout that gave us a third place. On the days before the competition Dan caught the new lake record of the species laketrout for Storsjön!

In the beginning of the autumn there was time for the third leg in Lake Vänern. The weather was rough and we had to struggle to catch fish. After two days of fishing the competition ended and we came at second place.

The last leg of the year was in Lake Vättern and the weather was even worse. It was impossible to fish and after two days of fishing there was only four fish at the weigh in!

Anyway we were still at the top of the series so we started to focus at the final in 2008 at our home harbour Hällekis. Late April 2008 there was time for the final and we were only a few points a head of our opponents. You can only guess how it felt before the start of this last leg.

The fishing was quite good and we weigh in three salmon at the first day. Still in lead and everything looked right. Second and last day we fished the same place and caught three salmon and one fine trout. We had great success with the chromed shark cannonball and we used Anchovy Special Baithead with an Action Disc II a head. The bait was bleak and smelt.

We ended up at second place in last leg of the Swedish Trolling Masters and this was enough for victory. At last we were at the top again.

Best regards,

Ove, Anders and Dan of Team Extreme
